The customs clearance of imported vehicles requires strict control of documents, both on the American and Canadian sides, and all these supporting documents must meet the standards required by border crossings and by the Registrar of Imported Vehicles, down to the smallest detail.

Consequently, when buying a vehicle on the American side and that it is financed by a financing company recognized in Quebec, this transaction becomes a sale by accommodation, that is to say that the transaction must be carried out by a merchant recognized by the SAAQ and become an accommodation sale accompanied by customs clearance.
